AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She is also the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she served as co-captain for America's women's national soccer squad with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her debut at the club , and also helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest player in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goals. She was the second player in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth most prolific player in the United States to achieve 20 goals in one year. Morgan was later named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which saw her named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
